Choosing the Right Anchors for Vodaland EasyPave/HexPave Grids: Plastic vs. Rebar

When it comes to stabilizing and securing ground grids like Vodaland’s EasyPave and HexPave, selecting the appropriate anchor type is crucial. Plastic anchors and J hook rebar anchors are two commonly used options. This article aims to highlight the key differences between these anchors and provide guidance on their optimal usage based on ground conditions and inclines.

Plastic Anchors: Ideal for Softer Ground

  • Vodaland’s EasyPave/HexPave plastic anchors are designed to excel in softer ground conditions. These anchors are made from durable plastic materials that provide reliable support and stability. They are especially effective in areas where the ground is less compact and tough.

J Hook Rebar Anchors: Best for Tougher Grounds

  • In contrast, J hook rebar anchors are better suited for tougher ground conditions. These anchors are constructed from iron and are exceptionally robust, allowing them to withstand greater pressure in more challenging environments. They are more ideal with your hard-packed or rocky surfaces.

Determining the Number of Anchors per Unit

  • To ensure proper installation and optimal performance, the number of anchors required per unit varies based on the incline of the surface. It is generally recommended to use 1-2 anchors for units installed on slight inclines. To secure the grid effectively on steeper inclines of 10 degrees or more, it is advisable to use two anchors per unit, offering enhanced stability and load-bearing capacity.

Anchoring EasyPave Grids When Filled with Soil

  • When the EasyPave grid is filled with soil to create a stable and permeable surface, anchors should be considered to prevent displacement and maximize traction. Focus on the following areas
  • High Traction Zones: Identify the areas where the most traction will occur, such as entrances or driveways, and add one to two anchors per unit for added security.
  • Inclined Zones: Follow the advised anchor amount in the above paragraph based on the degree of incline, in order to reinforce stability.

Choosing the right anchors for Vodaland’s EasyPave or HexPave grids is essential for ensuring a sturdy and long-lasting installation. Plastic anchors are recommended for softer ground, offering reliable support, while J hook rebar anchors are better suited for tougher ground conditions. The number of anchors required per unit should be determined based on the degree of incline, with 1-2 anchors generally recommended and 2 anchors for inclines exceeding 10 degrees. When filling the EasyPave grid with soil, it is advisable to add 1-2 anchors in areas with increased traction and inclines to maintain stability. Remember, proper anchor selection and installation are vital to achieve the desired results and maximize the performance of Vodaland’s EasyPave and HexPave grids in various ground conditions.
